{Mt. Dutton}

Shane's going hunting at Mt. Dutton later this fall, and he needed to go down and "check out" the area. So we decided to make a camping trip out of it last weekend and made the long five and half hour drive down. It was pretty cool to see some country that we've never been to before. And it was so weird how quickly the landscape changes down there. One minute you're surrounded by red rock cliffs and sagebrush, and the next minute you're surrounded by creeks and grassy meadows, only to find the next minute there are pines and quaking aspen trees. It's so cool!

We spent a lot of time driving.. not just for the trip down, but also while we were there. Shane wanted to "check out" the country, remember? And we saw A LOT of it! Here are a few of the cool things we saw while driving:

We did spend some time hiking.. and relaxing. Funny thing is, we didn't see ONE elk while we were there, and that's what he's hunting for. There were several deer, though. He actually has a tag for deer too, but he's concentrating on the big bull instead.

Camping with our family was a lot of fun.. good bonding times! And what's sweeter than this?

..except maybe this

.. or this
